We know how challenging it can be for teachers, school leaders and families to navigate the complexities of the digital world. The TechWell educational materials were developed to provide practical, accessible support that schools can adapt to their own context.
The full collection is available in six languages: English, Bulgarian, Czech, Greek, Hungarian and Italian. This multilingual approach helps schools across the partner countries use the resources in their own national and educational settings.
A practical component of the Digital Wellbeing Suite
The Educational Materials form the teaching and learning component of the wider TechWell Digital Wellbeing Suite. While the Suite supports a whole-school approach to digital wellbeing, the materials translate that approach into structured lessons, teacher guidance and classroom-ready activities.
They are designed to support reflection, discussion and practical action related to safe, healthy, responsible, ethical and balanced use of digital technologies.
A structured learning pathway
The learning pathway is organised across six A1-C2 reference levels, from Newcomer to Pioneer. Across the full pathway, teachers can access 10 lessons and 30 practical activities.
The A1-C2 labels are used as reference points to help educators navigate the materials and choose a suitable starting point. They do not represent a separate TechWell qualification, certification or formal assessment. Teachers may move between levels and select the units that best match their own experience, student group and school context.
Topics and learning support
The materials address a broad range of digital wellbeing themes, including:
- responsible technology use;
- screen time awareness and digital balance;
- online safety and responsible participation;
- mental health and wellbeing;
- critical digital skills and informed decision-making;
- healthy relationships with digital technologies.
Individual units include learning outcomes and contextual guidance. Recommended age information should be treated as flexible guidance and adapted to the maturity, experience and needs of the learner group.
Support for the wider school community
The collection also includes additional guidance for parents and school leaders. These resources help connect classroom practice with school-level planning and healthy digital habits at home.
This wider perspective reflects a core TechWell principle: digital wellbeing is not only an individual responsibility. It also depends on leadership, shared expectations, school policies, staff practice and cooperation with families.
Available in six languages
By publishing the educational materials in all partner languages, the TechWell consortium supports inclusive access and enables schools to use the resources in diverse cultural and educational contexts.
The materials are freely available through the TechWell website and will also support the project’s cross-country school piloting and refinement activities.
